I am loving the dramatic shapes and unusual pairings of Rowan Shaw's Frank Ideas jewelry line. While not all the materials are recycled, she uses paper, recycled plastics, buttons, and fabrics to amazing effect. I am totally inspired by the use of materials! (Via All Things Paper.)

These momma bird cards from Larissa at mmmcrafts are sending me into total cute overload. I really hope that my mom isn't reading this, because I'm definitely making her one for Mother's Day!

You may have noticed my predilection for paper sculpture, but these pieces by Anna-Wili Highfield are really jaw-dropping. They somehow seem more wiry and raw than most, which makes sense when you see her copper wire sculptures, too. I'm particularly fond of the giraffe, below. (Via Dude Craft.)

In honor of our very own Lish appearing on the one and only Martha Stewart Show (!!!) let's have another Martha moment with these lovely paper-cup flowers. This is a great way to use any extra few cupcake paper cups you have left over from a batch. I might need to bake some to celebrate Lish's Martha dream coming true!

My pal Christine from Delachic has officially made the most wonderful and ridiculous hat that I've ever seen. Designed for a charity event that also happened to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic, she whipped up this fabulous Titanic derby hat the night before using manila folders and foam sheets.
Last Friday marked the 100th anniversary of the Titanic. It was also the day of a work fundraiser where I volunteered. It's usually a big to-do where there's a fake horse race, similar to the Kentucky Derby. Therefore, there were derby hats!!

And, as if it the giant ship and classy birdcage veil weren't enough, the whole thing actually lights up!
Pretty fantastic, right?

Staying in the paper world these diamonds are forever cool by Mini Eco and way more attainable than real ones. And conflict-free, I imagine.

With spring fully in the air now, picnics are a perfect way to get out and enjoy the weather. I'm loving these cool butcher paper picnic totes over on Oh Happy Day.
This brilliant DIY picnic basket is the work of Alexis Birkmeyer. The materials to make this are really simple. Here we used an extra heavy butcher paper but you could even use poster board or a flexible cardstock. You just trace the template, cut it out and fold. So easy!
I'm wondering if you could use the same template and process with some heavy or interfaced fabric ....
