I’ve been asked to write a post about what I’ll be doing at Maker Faire this weekend. I’m so excited I can hardly sleep. I think it will be fantastic, so come on by!

Throughout the show I will be demonstrating how to stitch Bargello and how to make your own original designs using templates. Every hour I will be starting a new Bargello piece using templates and leftover threads and canvas. Every piece uses different Bargello pattern and many are for objects which you can finish yourself.

There will be a display of over 50 different finished Bargello pieces to give you an idea of the wonderful things you can make using this simple technique. The daffodil box pictured above is just one of them.

I have Bargello instructions on a postcard which will be available to people and will be there to talk and show you how to do Bargello throughout the show.

So come on down!

Maker Faire is at the San Mateo County Fairgrounds near the SF Airport and will be open from 10-8 on Saturday and 10-6 on Sunday.

Happy, happy, joy, joy!

I found out yesterday afternoon that I have been accepted to demonstrate Bargello at the SF Bay Area Maker Faire May 30 & 31.

It’s the world’s largest DIY festival sponsored by the publisher of MAKE & CRAFT magazines.

This year’s theme is Building a Sustainable Future so expect me to be showing how you can make Bargello usding knitting yarns leftover from projects, threads from your stash and how you can use items from around the house, dollar stores, and thrift store finds to make easy and great needlepoint.

I’ll have free basic Bargello instructions, free Faire exclusive designs, and sheets on the projects.

If you’ve been looking to buy one of my books, get it now and bring it to the Faire to be personally autographed.

And there will be some surprises too.

If you live anywhere near the Bay Area, stop by and visit.

I’ll have more details as I know more.
